Today, I think I shall cartoon.

Hello World!

Our time at The Center for Cartoon Studies is at an end, a very very sad end. We will be moving back to the big city next week and, in all honesty, are quite sad to be leaving all the great people in this wonderful community. We learned more than we could have ever imagined from both the professors and students and are extremely grateful to everyone. Y'all will be missed! Hear that CCS community! MISSED!

In any case, we present to you, the internet, Wall City, our thesis project.

Finally, we started sort of half-heartedly and very sadly packing up our studio space. Goodness, did we ever love having that studio. Chuck McChaz sat next to us all year and just about had his fill. But then he's one tough mother, so he was cool with that.

See? One tough mother.

What Else? well, today, we took good ole' Wall City on a walk around the studio. It LOVED seeing all the sights and meeting the locals.

I can't seem to say enough about CCS, really. Jason Lutes led our thesis studio this year and it was just awesome and amazing and it's only been like two weeks since we've seen him but miss him already. James, our very own school director, is awesome too... and so is Steve Bissette and Sarah Stewart Taylor... AND of course Michelle Ollie... we miss all of them fiercely. Too awesome, guys, TOO AWESOME!

Also, our day was rounded out by some enjoyable activities...

Cat walking...

And dill planting...

And Steve drove by shouting things at us.

Good day all around.

So, we guess that's it for now. We would post many photos and talk about everyone here, but don't want to be too much of a bore.

You can see more graduation photo stuff here.

More posts on graduation here and here.

Hope everyone is doing well out there in the big wide beautiful world.

DON'T YOU DARE!

Rowaarrrrrr! ROOOOWWWAAARRRR! Secrets and Lies Y'ALL!

Recently, the very friendly Cat Garza asked us to do a poster for the book release party for his new comics anthology Secrets & Lies. Well, we could not have been happier to do it... hear that Cat? WE COULDN'T OF BEEN HAPPIER!!!

Check out the Secrets & Lies website for more pics of the whole printing thing. The Anthology will be debuting at MoCCA, so make sure you keep an eye out for it.

Anyhow, that's what you see above. Why the cat on the poster? Well we had a conversation with our boys down in R&D and they whipped out a report on what's popular with the kids these days and had it on our desks the next morning. Cats, its said. CATS!

Also, it's for Cat (Garza), of course. Just shouting a brother out. Not to mention the fact that we think roaring cats are awesome and couldn't help ourselves. If only we could... help ourselves, that is, maybe we'd be better off. eh.

So what else is new with us, you ask? Well, we're newly graduated from CCS is what's new! My goodness, what a wonderful experience CCS was. We couldn't get enough of it... but we guess we have seeing as we've graduated and all.

More on graduation later.

Whelp, it's time we did something with ourselves. Your ever loving correspondents from finally sorta sunny WRJ, VT,

The gradient looks much cooler and hand done (read uneven) and not so, like, CGI looking.

Why HELLO! It has been a while and we have missed you dearly, ever so dearly. DTWA&K apologizes for not posting more often. We have been busy up here in the northland.

Anyhow, May 17th, Killing Phantoms heads over to Williamsburg to pump up the jam. Check it out, y'all.

Also we were given the opportunity to work on the title and thank you for reading pages for Robyn Chapman's Hey, 4-Eyes! #3. If you don't know about Hey 4-Eyes! well, now's clearly the time to check it out - especially if you wear glasses, like glasses, know people who wear glasses or like people who know people who wear or like glasses. And let's be honest, who doesn't.

Check it:

And what have we been up to lately? Well, we are proud to say we have completed (COMPLETED, FINALLY) Wall City. More on that later - much, much more, dear reader. Also, we've been busy reading a couple of new blogs by a couple of our favorite cartoonists: Extraordinary Comic Professor and Amazing Cartoonist Jason Lutes and Fabulous Cartoonist and Former Great Roommate Rich Tommaso.

Anyhow, we've missed you so dearly, we will not be away for so long, not ever again.

That actually might be a lie, but then them just the breaks, we guess.
